SUMMARY: The 21st CCLC/ Student Engagement Coordinator is housed within the Student Engagement, Career & Technical Readiness department and is charged with leading the implementation of academic enrichment opportunities, art, music, recreation, sports, drug and violence prevention and youth development activities to students during non-school hours through the 21st CCLC program. Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting the State Department of Education efforts to increase the safety and security profile of schools throughout the state, and decrease youth suicide. This position serves to identify and leverage activities and resources that create optimal learning environments and address barriers to high school graduation and post-secondary education participation.

Successful candidate must be available to travel. This is a full time position serving under an appointment of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Student Engagement and Safety Coordination.

  • Pay: $16.33 Hourly

SUMMARY: The Student Engagement and Safety Coordination team is comprised of a range of programs and services designed to foster and establish optimal conditions for learning and readiness for college and career.  This includes addressing barriers to postsecondary education, toxic school climates, suicide, high school dropout, habituation to low expectations and delinquency during and after school hours.  These issues are significant impediments to student success throughout K-12 and beyond.  Programs within this department include: 21st Century Community Learning Centers, GEAR UP, Advanced Opportunities, Driver’s Education, Safe and Drug Free Schools, College / Career Advising and School Health.

The Administrative Assistant 1 position on this team performs a wide variety of secretarial functions, providing support to the department Director and team personnel.  Emphasis will be placed on strong organizational skills, and balancing and coordinating workload for multiple projects.  This is a full time position serving under an appointment of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
