Introduction: ION Intern and Program Profiles Project

We feel so fortunate at the Idaho Out-of-School Network to have such a strong team of professionals who are passionate about afterschool and summer learning and the behind-the-scenes work it takes to advocate for and uplift quality programs.

We are excited to introduce to the network ION’s new Communication Intern, who will join the team this season to work on a special story project. Welcome Dalia!

Hi my name is Dalia Lamee; I am a Boise State student studying Media Communications and I am very excited to be spending this summer as the Communications Intern with ION.

One of the projects I’ll be working on is the Program Profiles project. The goal is to highlight out-of-school programs across Idaho and share the stories of the people who make them successful. I’ll help collect and share these stories so others can learn about the positive impact these programs have on youth, families and communities across our state.  

I look forward to visiting programs in the Treasure Valley and virtual interviews, meeting the people behind them, and learning about the awesome work they do for kids and families in the community. I am excited to help tell these stories and show the positive impact all these programs have had for us.  

By collecting these stories, we hope to celebrate and show the hard work that the program leaders, staff and volunteers provide while also showing the positive impact these programs have on communities. We also want more people to learn about the opportunities that are available through out-of-school programs across Idaho.  

I am very excited to meet new people, hear their stories, and share them with all of you! I hope that you will follow this summer as we highlight and explore these programs that help Idaho’s youth learn, grow, and succeed.
