Demand for afterschool programs in Idaho is enormous, yet most families who want programs for their children can’t access them. According to a statewide survey commissioned by the Afterschool Alliance in October 2025, only 27,000 children in Idaho are currently in afterschool programs, while an estimated 169,000 children would be enrolled if a program were available. This means that 5 in 6 Idaho kids are missing out. America After 3PM reports that Idaho parents strongly value afterschool programs and that 86% of Idaho Parents support public investment for afterschool.
