TMC WORKS

TMC Works aims to support STEM learning at out-of-school time (OST) programs, empower early-career professionals to enhance their own STEM and workplace skills, and increase STEM literacy in Idaho’s workforce. To achieve these goals, STEM Ambassadors and Supervisors undergo 20 hours of training and dedicate 80 hours to facilitating STEM programs with youth.

STEM-oriented businesses or individuals are encouraged to fill out THIS FORM to connect with STEM Ambassadors. We encourage STEM Ambassadors to visit STEM industry workplaces and meet STEM professionals to explore their own future career options.

STEM Industry Worksite Tours

Join ION for exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of leading STEM workplaces and colleges in Idaho!  These tours offer STEM Ambassadors an invaluable opportunity to:

  • Explore cutting-edge industries
  • Network with professionals
  • Gain insight into future career paths

Financial assistance is available for travel costs (mileage and hotel).  STEM Ambassadors under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult (parent/guardian, STEM Supervisor, teacher, etc.)

STEM Ambassador Training

STEM Ambassadors must complete 20 hours of training.  Complete the first 6 steps of the online training (see below) before in-person training with your STEM Supervisor.

To enroll in the online training, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Learning Academy account HERE.
  2. You will receive an email when your account is approved.
  3. Follow the link in the email or navigate to the Learning Academy from THIS page.
  4. Log into your Learning Academy account.
  5. Search for “STEM Ambassador Training” or come back to this page and click on the link below.
  6. Click on “Learn More” button under the “STEM Ambassador Training (TMC Works)” training.
  7. Click on the “Add to My Courses” button.
  8. Click on the “Launch” button to open the training.

Reporting on Activities

Online User Report

Online user reports are required for ALL activities led by STEM Ambassadors and/or Supervisors. They can be submitted monthly or more often. We suggest having STEM Ambassadors fill out a paper user report immediately after finishing an activity, then complete a online user report with the information later.

How to invoice ION

Use this form to invoice ION.  We require invoices to send payments.  You may invoice us:

  1. At the beginning of the cohort for STEM Supervisors’ admin fees ($1,050) and stipends ($750)
  2. At the beginning of the cohort for STEM Ambassadors’ admin fees ($1,050).  The number of Ambassadors invoiced at the beginning of the cohort must be equal to or less than the number of Ambassadors invoiced at the end of the cohort.
  3. At the end of the cohort for STEM Ambassadors’ stipends.  This is a reimbursement; you must pay your Ambassadors their stipend before invoicing us.
  4. At the end of the cohort for any additional STEM Supervisors and Ambassadors not invoiced at the beginning of the cohort.
  5. At the end of the cohort for reimbursement for supplies (up to $400 per Ambassador).  Also fill out the Receipt Ledger, linked below.
