STEM Learning Made Easy with TMC Labs

Participants will learn the basics of maker-centered learning and STEM education. This training will show how to lead hands-on making, tinkering, and engineering activities with K-8 youth using the Think Make Create curriculum and mobile labs. The session will explore how summer youth programs can bridge the Covid-related unfinished learning needs of youth.

Lunch with Special Guest Optum Idaho

1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Roundtable: Building Connections and Community Support

The Idaho Out-of-School Network will galvanize discussion around steps that out-of-school-time providers can take to maximize support for youth and families. ION will bring together out-of-school time program providers and school day supports to explore essential ways to connect and transfer information that will be helpful to best serve our youth and families.

ADDITIONAL SESSION FOR NEW TMC HOSTS

2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

When registering, those organizations scheduled to receive a TMC Mobile Makerspace lab should select “New TMC Trailer Host” and join us for a deeper dive into trailer safety and operations. All TMC host organizations are strongly encouraged to register staff for the morning Recharge Workshop and stay for free lunch and the Roundtable discussion.
